The personality quiz

My friend Allison took this quiz, and I always find things of this nature to be highly interesting, so I decided to take the quiz as well. You can find it here.

Let's see how I did!

Your personality type: "Dynamic Thinker"

Assertive and outspoken - they are driven to lead. Excellent ability to understand difficult organizational problems and create solid solutions. Intelligent and well-informed, they usually excel at public speaking. They value knowledge and competence and usually have little patience with inefficiency or disorganization.

Careers that could fit you include:

Business executives, CEOs, organization founders, business administrators, managers, entrepreneurs, judges, lawyers, computer consultants, university professors, politicians, credit investigators, labor relations workers, marketing department managers, mortgage bankers, systems analysts, scientists.

Tip: Place the mouse cursor over the bars for explanations of the terms.

Renowned persons with similar personality types:

  • Al Gore, former American vice president
  • Bill Gates, Microsoft founder
  • David Letterman, TV show host and comedian
  • Edward Teller, theoretical physicist
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt, American president
  • Harrison Ford, actor
  • Jim Carrey, actor and comedian
  • Richard Nixon, American president
  • Sigourney Weaver, actress
  • Steve Martin, actor and comedian

I'm not 100% positive about my results. I agree with the general facts, but that list of people with similar personalities frankly makes me cry. I don't really like a great many of the people on that list for multiple reasons, mostly their life choices. I don't really enjoy being compared to, well, people of ill-repute. I also found it laughable that they said I would enjoy public speaking. HA! See? I laugh, cuz it's funny! I DESPISE public speaking. With a passion. Also, none of the suggested careers appeal to me AT ALL. Clearly, this survey is good with facts, but when they try to make assumptions based on those facts, the results are less than to be desired. But try it out for yourself! It was fun taking the test, and reading what these people think of my personality! LOL

A survey

I have created a survey here, asking simple questions regarding my blog. Please answer the questions, and then come back and comment on your opinion of the survey. Was it too hard? Do you think I asked relevant questions? Was there anything you wanted said that wasn't on the survey? I really appreciate your feedback!

Blog party

I found this survey on Bramblewood fashion's blog:

1. Ring! Ring! You receive a phone call from a national sweepstakes organization saying that you have won a life-time supply of your favorite beverage!! What would that drink be?

A strawberry Italian soda or a homemade chocolate milkshake with whipped cream

2. If you could live in a Jane Austen novel, which book would you pick? What character would you be?

Totally Emma from Jane Austen's "Emma". Her life is perfect, and she has sweet clothes :)

3. What is your theme song, that favorite song that absolutely matches you?

Oh, this is a toughie.

4. You are trapped on a deserted island. Your only supplies are the clothes you have on, and a box with five things in it. What are those five things?

1. Bible
2. Water
3. A gun
4. A raft
5. A book entitled "How to survive on a deserted island: Identify edible plants and wood that will be strong enough to make a boat or home"
5. Chocolate or Caramel?

Please. CHOCOLATE! I'm not stupid!

6. Vacation! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would take a tour of Europe via the Orient Express :)

7. If forced to do one of the two, which would you do: sky diving or scuba diving? Why?
Scuba diving. Definitely. It's WAY safer in my opinion, and I am a wonderful swimmer, if I do say so myself.

8. Favorite TV show, and why?

Totally Laverne and Shirley or the Cosby Show. Laverne and Shirley is set in the 1950's, and is SUPER funny, and they wear cute clothes. The Cosby show is also really funny, and I like that the parents don't let their kids do things willy-nilly. They actually pay attention to their kids. Something that is sadly lacking in television today.

9. Are you a coffee and donuts sorta lady, or a tea and scones type of gal?

Well, even though I am not a fan of either coffee nor tea, I would definitely have to say tea and scones. Yum, English scones with clotted cream!

10.The time machine has finally been created, and you are the first to be able to use it! What era would you travel too?

I'd say sometime in 1940's or 50's America. Back far enough to consider it "History", but modern enough for plumbing. There are just a couple of things I can't love without, and a bathroom is one of them.

11. What is the last movie you watched?

Annie. The 1980's version. I was really bored. And now I remember why I never liked it. Miss Hanigen was always drunk, and Rooster, played by the ever terrifying Tim Currey, tried to actually kill Annie. Horrid.

12. Ding-dong!!! Your favorite actor/singer/celebrity is at your front door!Who would it be?

OHH! Let's see here. Can it be a dead person? It would be Jimmy Stewart

13. What was your absolute favorite toy as a child?

Oh, probably my dress-up clothes, my barbies or my Polly pockets.

14. What kinds of blogs do you like reading best?

I enjoy reading sewing, fashion, DIY, craft-y types of blogs, as well as blogs of everyday lives, provided they are well written and include a lot of pictures. I can't stand a mile-long post without some sort of visualization.

I think that's it! Gee, that was fun! You guys should try it!!!

School days......

I started my Junior year of highschool today!!!! I was pretty late to the party this year. I think I am the last of all my friends to start school this year.

I thought I had a pretty decent first day. I got to see people from last year, as well as meet some new classmates that have the potential for being future friends and aquaintances.

Now, I'm sure you are reading this going "Wait, I thought she was homeschooled? What is this rubbish about classmates?" You may have dashed to my "about me" page, and quickly scanned through my mini-bio, scratched your head at the line that clearly states that I am indeed homeschooled, and then returned to this post, possibly crying in frustration at my confusing schedule.

Well, please cease your weeping, for I am still homeschooled, but I belong to a group that provides classes, and I am taking a few of them. I had this same arrangement last year as well, but I only took history and Literature, which were sandwiched into one class. This year, however, I will be attending classes in Latin and Literature analysis. I have also joined the 4H group, which is new this year. Apart from the out-of-home classes, I am also studying history, Science, Algebra 2 and Geometry and logic. I have also taken up Piano this year, for those readers who are just joining the party.

I know what you must be thinking. In your head(or possibly out loud, maybe yelling at your computer screen) you are surely having the following conversation with yourself:

"What kind of a Highschooler has THIS kind of wimpy work-load? I mean, this is NOTHIN'! My twelve-year-old brother has more to do than this! Come on!"

Before you un-follow my blog and disown me to all your blog-reading friends, Let me assure you that Those are just the classes. I haven't even BEGUN to talk about my homework load! For latin, I will have roughly three writing assignments a week. Literature will be reading at least one book(but more likely two books) every couple of weeks, then discussing them in class. During the week, I will have paragraphs, essays, character sketches, and some other form of torture in the guise of writing that I have not yet thought of. Math takes about an hour, sometimes more, every day, as well, as science. history should take one to two hours daily.Logic will just be discussed, I think, but I still have to set apart a time to do that. And, what with piano lessons every Friday, practicing for at least an hour ever day, and the dozens of 4H projects and events I will working on over the school year, in a twenty-four hour day, I will have spent Somewhere around seven hours a day just on my school subjects.

Now, don't read me wrong, I am not one of those ridicules teenagers who hates everything to do with school. I love school, and I love learning! but I have a busy year ahead of me! I'll have Christmas carol practices practically every day(depending on if I get a part, or am just in the Chorus) plus two other reenactments spanning over two weeks(not back-to-back), the church Christmas play, in which I have the third largest role, not to mention hitherto unknown birthday parties, and other random parties celebrating equally random holidays, I don't know when I will have time to sleep! Oh, yes, I almost forgot one. I will most likely be taking drivers training this winter, plus the PSATs, which is a super special practice test for the SATs, which is the test that determines whether 1: I can get into College and 2: What colleges I should be applying for. Major studying. But, hey, sleeping is so overrated.

So, enough about my ridiculesly fast-paced life, how has your first weeks(or days) of school been? Anything interesting happen? Tell me all about it! You know I would LOVE to hear!

Your already exhausted author,

~Erin

Oh the places I can go........

A drive in movie theatre is just one of the THOUSANDS of places I can go, now that I have MY TEMPORARY DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my written driver's test today, and I passed!! With flying colors!!!! There were 40 questions, and I answered only 5 wrong!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!! I have been studying all week long(Well, I actually cheated a little. The manual for my state is REALLY dry and lame, so i didn't read it :) My mom found practice tests on line, and I got a video from the library that has a section for taking you permit test, and practice tests) I took at least 5 practice tests a day, and took extensive notes, and prayed a lot. And it all paid off!!!!!!!!

Before I started practicing, I thought the test was going to be hard, but when actually taking the test, I saw many of the exact same questions they had on the practice tests, words and all. Also, there were pictures that went along with every question(the test was on a computer) so that helped me a lot, being a visual learner, and all.

And, now I can start learning how to drive, and of course I have to take a class, which I'm really looking forward to!!!!
