Isn't she gorgeous? I have a friend of the family who raises Monarch butterflies, and I was over at her house yesterday, watching her feed them(they like juicy juice!) and she gave me one to release when I got home! So, I found a small box, poked a couple holes in the top, and CAREFULLY put the butterfly in it. Then, when i got home, I got my dad, and my mom got the camera, and I released my very own butterfly into my front yard!!! She stayed on a bush for a very long time, and then eventually flew away.What's even cooler is that my mom said I can start raising my own butterflies now, too!!! I am so excited, I can't hardly stand it!!!!!Here are more pictures of the release:
